My CD-RW Drive is being seen as a regular CD Drive and it will not respond to music CD's at all. But if i put a burned CD in the drive, it will be picked up right away. Any Idea why?? I have a dell dimension 4500S with xp home sp1
[help] CD-RW Drive seen as regular CD Drive
Possibly because of your CD being copy protected. Try a CD from before 2001 to make sure.
Updated drivers?
How do you mean it won't respond? Wont play music or can't even see the disk?
try reinstalling it. uninstall it in device manager, then reboot. let xp redetect it.
tryed to reinstall; it but it's still seen as a regular cd drive. i don't believe that there are any new drivers for it.
DoubleD: it won't detect the disc at all
herd- none of my cd's are copy protected
i was thinkin about reinstallin xp, but i gotta wait till i get a external HD
