So here is the challenge: at real mac dtop pics we can see than the inactive windows caption bars are semitransparent. Question: is it possible with the msstyles??? In stylebuilder there are a lot possibilities to make 32bit pngs. eg: scrollbars, min/max/close buttons etc. so why is not possible to make a semitransparent png for the titlebar???? I NEED REPLIES, NOT JUST READERS!

No, its not possible. There has been much discussion on this and its impossible, sorry bub.
to Contarsutra! u can read a topic at aquaxp forum, where someone built a new mastyle theme and he/she said: It has fully ANTIALIASED corners on caption and
it hasn't ANY BORDERS, its = 0. If it is true, I mean the antialiased border = 32bit semitrans pgn wich means semitrans toolbar is also possible................isnt it????????
He lied, Msstyles can possibly have real antialiasing, if you read the whole thread, you'd know that.
You can do it easily in Photoshop though. ![]()
if you try to use semi-transparent captions in Msstyles.. it will cause them to be Blacked out..
as for the non-existant borders...
this would cause a problem..
seeing as how windows requires a border. to allow for a window to be resized..
( the border is what the cursor must be over to resize) shrinking the border, or eliminating it completely, would make it very hard to resize windows that don't have the gripper...
just because you can use a 32bit png, doesn't mean it will work..
you can use 32-bit pngs for the caption buttons (this has been tried to get the shadow effect in aqua) but due to a lack of code on MicroSoft's part.. mousing over these buttons causes the buttons to get successivly darker.. (to the point that they have a very noticible black border around them)
BTW...
don't use stylebuilder as a point of reference..
just because it allows you to do something, doesn't mean it will actually work, once the theme is compiled..
in the pre-release alpha version.. there were options.. (They may still be in there) that allowed you to move the caption buttons over to the left..
however.. on compiling the theme.. you find that they are not on the left.. Microsoft put the code there.. but never finished it..
