[question] Where can I find another UXtheme patcher for SP2?

folks, I need another SP2 uxtheme.dll patcher besides the Neowin one, it detects some Windows NT setup files on my drive and won't install. Where is another one?

If you're saying the Windows File Protection detects the setup files, no patcher can circumvent that. You have to either trash the Windows Setup files or move them somewhere that Windows won't look for them (Psst, Recycle Bin)

afterwards could I restore them without reverting back? Which directory would I need to get rid of? The I386? I'm clueless when it comes to this.

Why not just do it manually - it will only take 5 minutes.

Get the UXTHEME.DLL file and copy it to your desktop, restart in safemode, locate your system 32 folder and replace the file, restart. et voila!

use the one posted here: http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=182900

the multipatcher is too problematic.

now liquidplasmaflow just confused me. Can I use the one dreamz posted and not have to get rid of my Windows NT setup files? Or do I need to move them and then move them back after the patching is done?

i've never had a problem with nt setup files. i just used replacer to replace the uxtheme file. simple and quick.

Thanks dreamz. I got it after finally deciding to get some courage and try it anyways. That got it.
