Yes, there is no comparison from the classic trilogy to the new one...

I still like them, agreed... but c'mon!

The Empire Strikes back is also my favourite of them all... (althoug Episode II leaves you with that same taste in your mouth, wouldt you agree?"I killed them. I killed them all. They're dead, every single one of them. And not just the men, but the women and the children, too! They're like animals, and I slaughtered them like animals! I hate them! " *The Imperial March Plays in the background for the first time in the new trilogy*

I am a big fan, could you tell? www.seph.ws/uploads/compb/

My Dad bought it yesterday, but I am not a fan of Star Wars at all.

What the heck is with the case thingie? It's like a sleeve with a wrap-around paper on it. It just feels cheaply made for almost $50. At least they made the covers like the newer ones. But it aggravates me that the newer ones have glodish lettering, and the original three have silver lettering. I would like them to be the same color. Plus what would the next three movies color be when they are released? Or are the first three (chronological) supposed to be bronze. I guess that would make more sense.

I bought it and I love it.

I was hoping there would outtakes with Leia's slave outfit.

I haven't found anything yet.

#217107

Hell yeah :D Bought it the very first day it came out here in Norway :)

Check out this baby, and you will probably understand how big fan I am ;)

#217108

#217109

You can order it from here :)

Of course it costs some money, but i can assure you its worth it :D

#217111

Unless you guys want to give it to me for my birthday that is :P

I heard they changed a lot of scenes in the dvd release like replacing the orginal anakin with the new anakin actor in return of the jedi and many other additions.

(Sorry for the crued remarks in the undedited post)

i havn't gotten it yet. im still saving up to get an ipod mini for my girlfriend, between that and bills i havn't had any extra money to buy much of anything :(

i might get it with my next paycheck.

i think return of the jedi is my fav, i wish they came out with this set sooner. i thought i red somewere that lucis wasn't going to release any starwars movies on dvd cuase he was worried about them being copied.

at least thats what my cousin said.

i kinda wish i hadn't bought the second one (clone wars), cuase when they finaly finish episode 3 and release it i know there gonna have a big dvd box set with all of them.

maybe i should wait for that.

Yes, because replacing scenes of a movie is just like homosexual preferences and should be pointed out as bad thing. Would you mind speaking properly? or at the very least, try to be politically correct?

I bought it.

My g/f bought it for me the day it was released. :woot:

It was to be released that evening, but she got it for me

in the morning allready...now, if that isn't love?

Anyways, have watched IV & V + the extra's DVD.

Haven't had time for part VI (Return o/t Jedi).

@Buddy16: what do you mean they replaced Anakin?

You mean at the Darth Vader-death screen??? Is that true?

I suspected them to have altered the DVD version again in some scenes.

For example: when I firstly saw the polishedup version of version IV,

I was very dissapointed with that added Han Solo meets Jabba the Huth scene, because Jabba seemed...well just >blêh< badly done.

But now, when we watched episode IV, that Jabba seemed to have made much

better. So, is it true this scene was redone? Can somebody confirm?

Any good sites that list the added the new DVD-feats?

One thing that dissapointed me was that there were no deleted scenes or bloopers included with this collection. I think that really sucks. What do you guys think of it?

Bottom line:

---

just like Indiana Jones last year this StarWars collection just had to get in our DVD collection. Man, does that bring back memories.

p.s.:

---

Oh, and I'm not that negative on parts I & II as most people seem to be.

Sure they don't have luke, han, chewey, leia, ewoks, snowspeeders, AT-AT', Tie-fighters, X-wing and all. So the experiance differs for sure. But I think it still captures the SW-feel. And tells what it says it does,; namely the prequel.

And I think it is smoothly blended in. The whole shape of things that leads eventually to A New Hope as we know it.

Say guys, are you also that anxious for part III next year?

I'll be S W E E T, I mean the creation of Darth Vader!!! :starwars:

Anyways, may the force of Aqua be with you,

yes episode 2 makes me want the 3rd

and all they did was put hayden chrisensen at the end of ROTJ, where they show yoda, obi-wan and anakin, they replaced the old anakin with hayden, there must be some reasoning behind it. i trust george.

The reasoning is that it's supposed to be pre-dark-side Anakin that we see then and, as we all know, that's Hayden Christensen, so it's logical.

Oh my God, does it really matter who shoots first?! Now, I'm a die-hard Star Wars fan, but the changes in the movies this time around, seem alright. My God, Lucas replaced and redid certain things in the movies since their original release because he wanted them to be CONSISTANT, and make sense together.

Think about it. The last scene, with Anakin's ghost. IF you had never seen the last three movies, and you see Ep 1, Ep 2, and then you go see the others, and you go "who the f*** is that guy?!" at the end because you've never seen that face! (just as we did when it was released and we hadn't seen the prequels) But now, you can tell and say "oh, yea! That's Anakin!" And see, that is the Anakin BEFORE HE TURNS to the dark side. That's the point. He wasn't the old guy he we saw before they changed and inserted Hayden was he? He was younger when he turned.

Anyways, enough with my ranting...but yea.

His changes are logical and just. They are his movies, and he can do what he wants.

Tell me this...did it make you not like the movies now? No. You still enjoy the movies. Anyways...uh...bye!

Jabba was redone (confirmed) to match the Jabba we see in Ep.6 & Ep.1. Also redone was the Emporer/ Vader discussion in Ep.5 with the actual Emporer in the shot, new dialog for Vader & The Emporer that will tie in some events from Ep.3 better. Knowing some of the things that happen in Ep.3 sheds a whole new light on these movies, and theyve been cleaned up so much they look like new.

Overall, I liked this re-release 100x better than the first remake. The sound is amazing now, and all three movies seem to fit Ep.1 & Ep.2 much better. If you want to see some great previews of the Obi-Wan/ Darth Vader fight in Ep.3(where Hayden is Darth Vader before he wears the armor) and the new Darth Vader armor that results (basically the same, but with the mask fixed so its no longer mishapen), you've got to pick this up. George talks about the evolution of Anakin, how Obi-Wan is going to win the duel against Vader who is far more powerful (Obi-Wan isn't as powerful, but is alot more experienced) and George also goes into the evolution of lightsaber duels from A New Hope through each movie up to what Revenge of The Sith has in store for fans.

There is also a preview of the making of the Ep.3 game for the XboX, which shows off Anakins Sith fighting style... something that ties in how Vader was always throwing his saber around in Ep.5 & Ep.6. :D

Final word: worth every penny spent.
