[help] Sysstats Weather Mod.

Alright, I would first like to apologize if this is any inconvenience to you, and secondly: I'd like to thank anyone who could help me.

I have been trying for the past 4 1/2 hours to install a SysStats Weather docklette: or whatever it may be called. I've tried installing SysStats, but to no avail. I am at a complete loss, how do I do this?

I've read the tutorial, but also; no help. I am not exactly computer illiterate, but I just cannot seem to get this damn thing to work. If anyone would be so kind as to link me to up-to-date versions of everything, perhaps even explain how to install it... I would be so incredibly grateful.

lol, well I'll try to help. I'm guessing your using avedesk. If not, get it, should be pinned under ave apps (current version is 1.1). You must unzip SysStats into the desklets folder under avedesk. Next open up the avedesk control panel by right clicking the avedesk icon in the system tray and go desklets control panel. When its open go to desklets and go to add. The dialog that opens up should say sysstats. Click that so that it is highlighted, and click the button at the bottom that says add item. It should now appear on the desktop somwhere (a huge question mark).

Now for the sysstats weather docklet. Unzip the file somewhere and then put the config into the avedesk\desklets\systats\config folder, and the same for the files you unziped, i.e. if it came with images then put it into the avedesk\desklets\systats\images folder.

Now back to the question mark. Right click it and highlight the word load. Go to the folder where you put the config for the systats weather thing. (avedesk\desklets\systats\config, remember? ) and it should load.

Then you can put in your location by right clicking the same desklet of the weather config, and pick configure meters.

Tell me if you need anymore help. Hope it was understandable

Hi, Juliana. It would be easier for people to help if you could be specific with your problems eg at which point of installation that it did not work? or can you see Systats in the AveDesk Control Panel?

If you zoom into your installation problems, the people in the forum can identify with your problem and offer a solution.

I followed those directions and the question mark disappeared and now you can't click on it period, still says sysstats though.

You must unzip SysStats into the desklets folder under avedesk.

Actually, if you do this you will get-- AveDeskDeskletsDockletsSysStats and SysStatsCOM.dll will not be located in the correct location.

Use the SysStats Installation Checker to see if you installed it correctly.

So, just uzip SysStats into your AveDesk folder.

Now for the sysstats weather docklet.

Depending on the config you have, it may already have the correct folder structure. So, just unzip it into your SysStats folder.

Now back to the question mark. Right click it and highlight the word load. Go to the folder where you put the config for the systats weather thing.

Then you can put in your location by right clicking the same desklet of the weather config, and pick configure meters.
