Should I Customize Now Or Customize Later?

Hey guys,

I've had my laptop skinned ever since I bought it about in January, but recent problems made me want to format my computer. Anyway, well, right now I'm using Home SP1 and I really want to upgrade to SP2 but I don't want to because I want to wait until flyakite releases his SP2 pack. This is really killing me now though, having to use the xp luna theme with the bliss background, and my computer looks ugly. Part of the reason my computer got slow before was because I had waay too many skins and stuff on there, so I figured working with flyakite's SP2 pack and then working from there would help minimize this. Anyway, I guess my question is, should I wait for it's release, or should I just go ahead and go crazy now? What's so good about SP2 anyway? and just out of curiosity, whens flyakite SP2 going to get released anyway? this month? next month? this year, the year after? Just so I know hehe. I don't think I can wait too long :), and flyakite is like crack

Why don't you install Flyakite SP1 and wait patiently for SP2 version?

sp2 is good. lots of improvements and security fixes. and it's even faster on my system than sp1.

i say get sp2 and just live with default files for now or hack your own. :)

well, i was, but i'm thinking of just going and upgrading to sp2 right now. im also afraid of any potential problems if i install it and upgrade to sp2 later, but thats probably just me being stupid.

it's even worse now though, what with the release of the new windowblinds and so many great themes out for it. haha its hard to resist temptation :naughty:

uxtheme for sp2 was released a long time ago. using a personal theme and i modded the system files myself.

flyakite's releasing SP2 fairly soon, I think. Within a month.

Myself, I'm sticking to SP1 until he releases it.

I had flyakite sp1 installed and just recently upgraded to XP SP2 with no problems. All your files go back to defualt however.

But service pack 2 is worth the upgrade. I've upgraded my themes and everything else except for the system files. But I am slowly doing that myself to learn some new things.

But I am also waiting for FLYAKITE SP2

oh really? if it's within a month, then I could probably wait for a bit. I might just change the background and add object dock or something like that... i figure if I wait, then I'll be able to see which programs need to be installed and which ones do not.

Yes, hopefully I shall have the SP2 version ready early October.

Unfortunately my summer job keeps me away from home a lot, and since my laptop is an iBook, I can't work on the system files when I'm on the road, else they'd probably be done.

Also to let everyone know, I switched webhosts about a month ago. The main reason this is a good thing, is that my last host had php-safe mode enabled on the server, which screwed up my mailing list software. Now however the new server allows me to run my mailing list like it is supposed to. Unfortunately everyone that was previously on the list will have to sign up again, but that won't be until I have the list configured properly. I'll let everyone know when it's up and running again though.

mmm that sounds good :). but of course, a job is more important than any hobby, so keep to it :). i was in love with flyakite 6 SP1 before i reformatted, and it was a nice leap from the previous flyakite. my favorite additions were the cursors that showed up with you would drag an icon from one place to another etc. I couldn't get the log off and shutdown screens to work properly though. they were just a stretched out version of the tiger ones from the WB version. nevertheless, yeah, thanks for the work, and yeah, get your work done before you get to this ;), but i'll still be waiting for it the day it comes out haha :D
