Not sure, haven't dabbled in expired domains before... but what's really got me curious is why you'd want to swipe a domain out from network solutions...

can take upto 6 months from expiration before it becomes available again.

BUT - if its you clients domain - they can contact the necessary registrar (in this case NETWORK SOLUTIONS) and the domain can be re-activated. The expiration period is to help the people who own the domain - so use it
