The progression in this topic is really intruiging. Just astounding. A lot of people have been waiting for this (including myself) since its release.
[help] Skinning Itunes
I know I haven't been updating everyone on the iTunes Skinning program lately but it's because I've been busy with RL stuff.. Anyhow, I have quite a bit of this program done and it is functional. Here is how the program works.
Basically, you create a Project... This project will contain all of the images editable within the iTunes.exe file. The will be grouped in TreeView style...
You simply double click a list item or hit ctrl+i or just select the option from the toolbar or select the Menu item from the Edit Menu.. LOL
Anyhow, you select your new file and the file is replaced within your project.
You can then save your project which will be saved to a file ending in "iskin", ex.. "iTunes_Skin.iskin"..
Anyhow, you can load this file at a later time to continue editing.
This file contains all of the image info of the skin you are creating, so as you have guessed, this is the file that will be exchanged between iTunes users.
You simply load up this file in the program and it will write the skin to the iTunes .exe file.

Looks great, but one question - will the background tile image be editable? I haven't seen it in any of your screenshots..

Well, you can edit the background tile but it will not change the color much since iTunes automatically draws the gradient over the tiled image which in turn produces a greyish color.
You can adjust the color to be really dark or lite and produce a black/white effect tho.
I am still working on figuring out what every single image is used for. It is quite difficult as there are over 300 images.
The version I will be releasing will be an early Alpha version just to have everybody test it out and find any bugs that could possibly arise. The skinning unfortunately is very limited but I am trying to overcome the filesize limitation.
Currently, iTunes Skinner only supports images of the exact same dimensions and either exact or smaller filesize. This doesn't prove a problem for normal images but for masks it sometimes can be.

Hey i just discovered this lil section and i realllllly want to be able to skin my iTunes to look more like mac, but i have absolutley no idea how to do it myself. i was just wondering if there was any news on this skinner program that may be easier than i think?
