Destop Icons At 72 Size, How To Get Bigger?

On top of a how-to to get the icons bigger on the desktop (presently at size 72), does anyone know how to make the text font larger and bold or italic?

I have a register file that do it. You can modified it and get the icons bigger (72, 96.. ¡¡¡128px!!!)

I'm not use my pc and I don't post this file now. I post it later... ;)

Another way is Desktop X's new icon-x technology...

You can actually have icons larger that 128x128, and animated

Ok My icons are now at 128x128, but they looked jagged ( im using icons from the shell32.dll), is there a way to use *.pngs on the desktop?

ALSO: is there a way to make the fonts under the icons bigger and in bold?

thanks guys.

The reason they are jagged is because the shell32 icons are 72 (file size reasons). You cant use PNGs in regular windows (I think Desktop X can though). You can convert them into .ico without any loss of quality though. Get a free program called ICON SUSHI.

Serious Samurize can display PNGs on the desktop and with meter linking they can act like icons.

If you browse for my latest desktop snapshots in the March desktop thread you will see Serious Samurize in action.

Is there a way to tell Desktop X to stop rearranging your icons? I have the recycle bin in the lower right corner...any time I change DX settings or restart the machine it insists on lining up my icons down the left side of the desktop with the recycle bin on top. I like the large icons, but I like to have them stay where I put them.

contrasutra thanks alot! That Icon Sushi worked like a charm, and is so easy to use. I now highly recomend it.

Grusic, got a link to download Serious Samurize from?

thanks again to all.

Now does anyone know how to increase the font size under my desktop icons? Icons are 128x128 yet the test is tiny, and not bold.

Change text size:

Right click on desktop -> Properties -> Appearance Tab -> Advanced Button -> Choose icon from drop down menu -> to the right of Font, adjust size to your liking.

Please be sure to check out the visual tutorial before coming to me with questions.

If you decide to use Samurize for your desktop icon stuff, you will find that you can, if you like, make icon text do pretty much anything you have asked about, regardless of the Explorer settings.

If ram usage is a concern for you, most Samurize configs use about 1 meg of RAM when active, nothing really.

Hi, another great solution is using LiteStep to configure any PNG on your desktop.

Shell Front WebSite

Here's an example
