Explorer Search Tab Problem?

here is my problem

the search tab in explorer is blank (there should be the search assistant)

the "Find Next" button in ie menu->view->find is disabled and the Cancel button doesn't function

I'm using WindowFX, WB w/ OSXP NG, OB w/ MageGuru's OS X, iceman's system files and shell styles

the search function used to work but somehow this weird thing happened

anybody know how to solve it? thanks in advance

Check you are using the right system files.

You might have got the wrong versions...

(there should be the search assistant)

Unless it is classic search mode...

i guess it's sth in the registry that causes all these

anyway i'm getting mad with windows

thinking about a system reinstall

do u guys format and reinstall your windows periodically or do you just try to fix it?

If you were really stumped you could format/re-install...

i remember the previous machine i used went through win95 to xp without formatting

but sometimes i find it easier to reinstall than to fix a system in a total mess

just wondering whether it's system files' fault. i'm using chinese windows u know, and those files are for english xp...

That could be your problem right there...

You could reshack Iceman's files with your chinese equivalents...

ie: compare the differences between the two and replace your system files with the more aqua stuff.
