try myIE2. google it. the page is slow as hell (for me) but the browser is good. based on ie and skinnable. best of all: its free 
Another feature of myie2 is that it is FAST, the fastest i have used, the program is small and it has a good popup blocker.
anyone find savanna slow compared to myie2?

If you really want to browse safe & fast use Phoenix, it uses Tab Browsing and loads way faster than Ie.
;-) Plus when you use Phoenix, you won't be subject to most of those security flaws Microsoft gets. (In 2002 60 security reports were filed, aka 60 serious security flaws in the year 2002...that means on average Microsoft will make one major security flaw per week.

Do u have to have IE 6, install to be able to use Myie2,or will it run without any dependecy from IE 6, Iwan to get rid of IE 6?
Most of those software apps require IE to be installed, so you are still using Ie6.
Without Ie, they would have to program an entire browser. So, if you want to get away from IE, try iether Phoenix, Mozilla or Opera.

I like Phoenix alot but sometimes I find myself having to switch to IE when I download files. For example, when I try to download a WMP skin from customize.org, the skin wants to automatically install and it cannot be saved to a directory. With Phoenix, it doesn't know how to handle it. It will open up a window and alot of txt will fly on the screen. With IE, the proper install dialog comes on. I have the same problem at the winamp website. Other than that, Phoenix has been awesome. No problems whatsoever...
You just have to go into preferences and setup the mime types and tell Phoenix how to handle these files.
I think there are guides online that show how.
