Not really, no.
They made a PDA in the early 90s, called the Newton.
Fairly revolutionary, but also fairly unsuccesful.

i seem to miss the connection of the desktop G5 and a PDA 
but then, that`s just me 
anyway, the PDA market is dying and being swollowed by mobile phones so i don`t see any point in a Apple PDA.
But Steve might prove me wrong 
Why not? Double the display and halfen the battery run time and
iPod becomes iPad. Since the iPod already has vCards, Solitaire and whatnot,
it's bound to happen methinks.

actually it would be sweet. but first must develop a pocketpc os which will take a while. the only thing would to make a beautiful case (aluminium prefered ) and a great name! then they could not advertise palms!

I would have betted that before the 5th Gen iPod, that Apple would have already made it a PDA sort of device. It looks like that won't be happening since each generation has been getting smaller and more compact.
I don't think Apple has any reason to creating a PDA. They already have their entire software library working flawlessly with virtually every PDA on the market. It would be too late for Apple to put their foot in the door with a PDA.

Personally, I think it would be better and more revolutionary for Apple to launch some sort of mobile phone device (similar OS to a Smartphone, but with the sleek good looks of a Sony Ericsson). I'm doing an A-Level business project on this at the moment - I know I'd buy it!!

gaaaaa, apples really good about keeping things away from the public.
Apple will release a PDA when Steve Jobs loses his mind and contradicts everything he's ever said on the subject, or Sculley gets brought back to replace him when he's forced out. IOW, don't hold your breath.
