OK so I have 4 40Gig WD 8MB cache drives that I love but now I want to see what drives are active at what timmes so HERE IS MY QUESTION;
Does anyone know how to setup multiple LEDS (one for each drive) I am guessing I need to know what pins send an activity signal but I am not sure which ones do that or even if there are pins that only send activity signals. I have looked everywhere for this mod and came up with nothing so any help you can give is much appriciated.

Some drives have a contact pin on the drive so you can add an extra LED. You'd have to read the manual to see where this pin is if it's even there. As for where to put the final LED, I'm not sure. But i'm sure you will find a spot to stick it. 
And if the manual doesn't say anything assume it's not there, tweaking something like a hd to find the pins is a touchy thing, hate to see you ruin a drive.

PS: I had a link to schematics somewhere for a 555 circuit that lit up an animated "icon" made up of x LEDs on IDE activity, but i forgot where i've put it... if i find it, i'll post the link here...
