[help] How To Make Od Slower

i'm running on a p4 2.8ht, 512mb 400ddr, geforce5600xt 256mb PC. And when i use od (plus or normal ver.), it'll run extremely fast :( so i'd no chioce but to use yzd, which is slow enough for me/my PC. <_<

So is there a way to make it run slower?

Topic Title Edited.

It's Object Dock, not Object Bock ;)

Soooooo.....ummmmm.... your computer runs tooo ...fast. Wow ... what a drag. I wish I could rant about these things! :P

Seriously dude, you ain't gonna find much simpathy here!

PS Y'z is better anyways :cheers:

In what way does it run too fast? Have you changed the options to extra smooth (slower) and re-show very smoothly?

I know what he means, changing the settings wont help. That's what OD is like, jumpy :/

Edit. Ok, the topic says objectbar but i take that you mean objectdock.

you could downclock the CPU in the bios....

How about changing the priority of the app thru Task Manager

lower the priority and let us know if it helped

@k_dash:

I want you to (no joke here) play and win a round of solitaire.

If the "you won" animation takes a noticable time (you can see

each card bounce three times) then its a timing error in ObjectDock.

If, and this is rare, all cards are removed within a blink of an eye,

your GFX card driver needs updating. I don't know how object dock

is programmed, but there was the dev trick to wait for the vertical backtrace

before the next draw, to ensure a flicker free drawing.

Solitaire does this and on systems which don't correctly report a (cathode tube

beam) vertical backtrace, the animation would depend on CPU speed.

If this is the case, check if your monitor refresh is at reasonable rates below

100 Hz. On a LCD, don't use more than 60 Hz. If this doesn't help, bug

your GFX card maker about the issue.

Another idea would be, as Duckie said, play with the task manager.

Since this is a HT machine, I would also test turning HT off, or if your

task manager reports HT as a dual, setting ObjectDock to be run on CPU

0 only.

@Duckie:

No use, even at the lowest, it's still as jumpy as ever :(

@herd:

the cards dosn't jump 3 times, they just jump slower then usual (a bug?)...

#212422

This is most certainly NOT a HT CPU issue, Objectdock is UNUSABLY jumpy on my machine too. Even with the smoothest settings, it's rather jumpy and hence, totally unusable.....whereas Y'zdock is incredibly smooth.

I have an AMD AthlonXP 2000+ @ 1.6 GHz and a GF2 MX with 61.77 drivers.

In this case, consider my statement undone.

perhaps i need to add something to slow the timers for people with very fast video cards... k_dash see my PM
