Itunes Skins

So ive been using Spidercrabs awesome iTunes skin for QCD, but ive seen other iTunes skins for programs that seem to be able to do more (program limitation of course, no offence Spidercrab). They can arrange by album, artist, etc, more like the real iTunes.

Question:

What program + iTunes skin do you use for music?

i think we are pretty much stuck with qcd right now actually.

its not a bad player, but it doesnt' have wma support, and i have a ton of wma's. im really hoping someone will put out a killer itunes skin for winamp soon!!!!

#18385

there is one wma plug-in for qcd http://www.quinnware.com/plug_in1.html dunno if it works great. btw

Qcd imitates itunes really well, especially those text animation, i dunno if they do that in da real thing, but they looked really aqua-ish to me.

so thats the verdict, huh? Ive moved on to Winamp2.9, really great performance. QCD slows down my system too much. WA2.9 doesnt support freeform skins, so no chance of an iTunes skin, but lots of great aqua skins out there. :)

I know this is offtopic... but I want to use QCD and was just wondering if there is a winamp3 style media library (with the search function and all),

Anyways... thanks

#18456

yes...it has a search field built into the main window.

#18457

hmm wow i didnt notice the search the first time heh... i guess my eyes suck.. but thanks

i really want some iTunes skin with the alternating light blue/white bars on the song list. this one only has the bright blueness, and it's irksome. anyway, if i knew XML i'd try to skin an iTunes clone for Winamp. but alas, i don't, and QCD is fine for me.

Actually, I downloaded an iTunes skin from I think deskmod.com that does what you're looking for. The skin is for WMP and it looks great. All the info is in their respective columns and when you press the green button it'll shrink down to the miniplayer and vice-versa.

Felix187 - Please read the notes that come with the iTunes skin. You do NOT have the latest version of QCD. The latest version as of today is B42c. That will remove the "bright blueness" as you call it.

Rohan - You should download Canard Bleu's Jump plug-in for a very comprehensive media library search function for QCD.

laydros - QCD has WMA support straight out of the box.

Other new and interesting stuff available over at the QCD site and forums:

A new MAD 8 to 32-bit MPEG plug-in.

A track and playlist Resumer plug-in.

A Nero CD burner plug-in for Data and Audio.

Local CD Database plug-in.

An Xcopy plug-in that provides access to mp3Gain.

A ReplayGain plug-in.

Tray controls.

#18528

Try pushing de green button (+) ;)

#18558

That is a GREAT iTune skin for Windows Media Player. It combines maxi & mini modes.

Thanks Aries326 for such a great post!

awesome, now everything (excluding winamp, which i don't even use anymore) that's supposed to look like iTunes does... and well.

Spidercrab, you're right, downloading the latest dev version helped. it's fixed now.

Aries326, that WMP skin was just what i needed. awesome, just awesome.

Peace,

Felix

Does the search feature work in this? Or is it just there for the sake of it.

The search in QCD works, but its just eye candy in WMP.
