alright here comes my suggestion:
we got all the spaces for those popular IM-Systems ICQ, AIM, MSN, YAHOO but why, oh why are we missing the one for Jabber? I think quite alot of people use that IM here on the forums, so it would be nice to be able to 'share' your jid.

is it really that hard to mod? I think one would 'just' need to take a look at the way they made the AIM,... one's, copy that and edit it a little. or ain't it?
I agree with ont. The number of Jabber users at A-S is growing.

I dont use it, maybe I will eventually, especially if you have to start paying for AIM.

It isnt as easy as you think.
The files may be in many seperate areas in the board files and modding just ONE wrong can foul up the IPB code and damage it beyond repair.

Not just that. You would have to write a module that acceses Jabber (similar to the MSN Messenger module (and no. I am not saying Messenger is similar to Jabber)).
Furthermore, we've already presented viable alternatives.
I've got bigger fish to fry (when IPB 2 goes final, that is), and Tim probably wouldn't bother with this anyways...
For everyone's info:
"Thankyou" mod is priority #1
"Top Secret A-S/æ-s project" is priority #2
"Jabber IM in profile" mod is priorite #32154321354632513654.
Seriously, it's not that big a deal. Just put it in your interests, or something.
If someone else finds an IPB mod to support Jabber, PM me.
