Panther is a-coming! Panther is a-coming! Check out Apple's main page. I guess it sucks for emulation, coz we might have to start over

New Mac Os
I'm not panicing. After all this is still MacOSX. They probably won't be making any drastic changes as far as the interface goes. I would say they probably would do some tweaks to aqua or make a new theme sorta like it if they do. Maybe with how they are putting practically every app brusehd they will make the whole OS brushed.
There are lots of other big changes they can make also which don't have anything to do with the GUI.
Maybe they will bundle their own versions of third party hacks into the OS like they did when they put the control strip and other things into MacOS9.
However, It's all speculation anyway until they actually announce any real changes.
Edit: I was at OSnews.com and I read one of the new features could or is 64-bit support. Perhaps for the upcoming 64-bit PPC chips everyone is talking about.
Some says that the Mac OS X Codename: Panther will only update it's iApps and the core "DARWIN"... based on the Macintosh Developer Group. Remain anonymous for some reasons.
Visit AquaXP for more about this topic. I hope....
Are you serious? No, I wouldn't worry about it. Smoke is right. It is still OS X. If they were going to make any drastic changes they would call it OS 11. The whole look and feel will probably not be changed much.
Remember 10.1.x to 10.2.x, there was no differance, only to features no one usually notices.

depends
cause many icons have changed and new things were added as well (changed: itunes, calculateor, address book and many more, added: lots of applications), and the GUI was SLIGHTLY redesigned, Dock has completely refurbished with tons of more features 10.1 didnt have and in quite a few apps you could see a change in the lay-out.
However we were lucky at the time, cause back then we didnt reach much advanced emulation status, and desktops then looked awfuly fake compared to nowadays achievements.
But I do agree, it wasnt a significant change as it was from os 9 to os x for example.
I am honestly not worried regarding the new lay out. We got planty of talented skinners who can easialy catch up with the new layout (if at all) ![]()
Do you think that apple might consider allowing this version to be used on x86 hardware??? I want to see macs with intel inside!!! ![]()
word is that they'll have new and improved dock features in this new version...
cuz we win-people won't have them but
cuz i'm sure people will implement them.

It gives us something to do. Maybe there will be some neat new feature like the dock was that will atract more people to aqua-soft and start the second aqua revolution. Problem though, what if Apple comes out with a new, non aqua theme, what do we call the site?
10.3 will be a totally voice controlled user interface. No graphical UI, no Aqua, no skins.... nothing!
