[help] What Program(s) Do You Use To Make Vs's?

I'm guessing this has been answered a hundred times, but I can't find anything in search?

I want to be able to edit/create Visual Styles but I'm not sure which program(s) I need. Are there any good free programs? Is there something you would recommend to purchase? I just use a modified uxtheme.dll to display visual styles and do not want to install a program like Window Blinds.

to edit/create visual styles, you can use stylebuilder from tgtsoft. it's free trial, and no, you don't need to have stylexp installed (if you're using the patch).

but i like to use reshacker/resbuilder. it's easy enough to extract, edit, and replace images with those.

I'm using Stylebuilder and Photoshop. I start with a base (usually a VS from Kol) and replace images using Photoshop. Any tweaking is done in Stylebuilder.

Before I moved to Stylebuilder, I too went with Reshacker as my image replacement program of choice.
