I'm assuming that out of the thousands of members here at A-S, there has got to be a few musicians, producers and engineers around.
I'm picking up a PowerBook soon (and a G5 next spring), and am wondering what other quality music applications are out for Mac, besides Logic, Reason, Digital Performer, and Cycling 74's stuff.
Suggestions?
Edit: Well known progs and plugins need not apply. I already know 'bout most of these. I'm looking for lesser known but VERY excellent quality stuff.

Well maybe this one goes under your "well known Term"
but according to my opinion one of the best and/or most interesting
Realtime Music Production Tools is Ableton Live.
Although the special attention of this Tool is set to Live Set Performance
it also offers a bunch of great features for the "standard" Music production.

Cubase SX, wavelab 5.0 - they are also aviable on mac, aren't they?
I'm getting Logic pre-installed, so Cubase isn't really on my list.
As for Ableton, my cousin has it on his PB - it's great when ReWired with Logic and Reason, and even better with NI progs are running in tandem with everything. INSANITY I tells ya.

And it´s gettin´ better and better...
The new extended Midi integration or the better VST support in Ver. 4.xx for example.
It´s really kick´s Ass and opend a whole new way of creating Music with this Piece of Software for me.

About 500 different vst and vsti's.

works like a charm.
I have Reason 2.5 too but i don't use rewire so.
I think all these programs works on a mac.

The type of software you use is going to depend heavily on what you're trying to accomplish.
I just record and mix down guitars, bass and drums, no vocals, so I've always stuck with Pro Tools and my M-Box.
Never really needed anything else.
Oh and I do use Cakewalk Pro for some very rare Midi/keyboard work.
