your best bet is to try using MS Virtual PC on the Mac, or even get a small program called, MacDrive. from what i've read macdrive gives access to certain drives and folders for your mac to access.

cheers, i hope this helps much.

OK, I assume you have whatever folders you want on your PC set as 'shared' and that you are running Panther on your PB here. You will also need to know what your PC and PB names are on the network.

Click Apple menu > System preferences > Sharing

Under the 'Services' tab, make sure the 'Windows Sharing' checkbox is ticked.

Connect to PC from mac

-----------

Make sure the finder is the frontmost app.

Click 'Go' > Connect to server (Cmd + K) Then in the little box type:

smb://pc_computers_name_here

and click connect. Choose the shared folder you want and it'll mount as a new drive on your desktop after you feed it the user name and password of you on your windows box.

Connect to mac from PC

---------

Open an explorer window, click Tools > Map Network Drive

Give the window your mac's name, your username/password for logging in to the mac, click connect. You'll have a new drive appear (Z:\) and can work as normal.

This is what I do, it works well. On your mac, it'll eject all network drives when you close the lid or it goes to sleep. Make sure you SAVE EVERYTHING before you do that.

You must have your PC to be member of a network or domain (i am guessing it is just a network)

You should then, automatically be able to mount a network hdd (if it is shared in the PC) in the finder. http://seph.ws/mac2pc/mac/ follow steps from 1 - 5.

Now, to allow windows to access the macintosh shared folder (HOME Folder for the current user) you will need to follow (As Ludge properly stated as well) the steps 6 and 7 in http://seph.ws/mac2pc/mac/

Once you do this your mac will be shared as a part of a domain in your pc. http://seph.ws/mac2pc/pc/ Here is what you do to access your mac from a pc. When you try to log in for the first time it will ask you for a user and password, use that u/p that you are using on your user in the mac at the moment. Allow it to save the user/pass combo if you want, otherwise you will need to type it in everytime.

After that you should be able to see the resources shared on the mac on the pc.

Hope this more visual guide helps you.

Do post if you need more help.
