hey,
well in the effort to save my computer i have made leeway!!! i have narrowed dow nthe problem to my video card ( i think) i havent installed the nvidia geforce drivers for it yet and the system is stable! Heres the kicker though, on my first hd i was running XP Pro sp1
Drivers: I tried the Nvidia 41.xx, 56.xx, and 61.xx
Hard drive 2: SATA MAxtor 80gb running windows XP Pro (no service pack installed)
Drivers: tried all three drivers listed above
Hard drvie 3: WD400 40gb running server 2003 and xp pro (no service pack)
drivers: on server 2003 i tried the drivers i got from the disk 41.xx and thats all. on the xp side i didnt install any drivers at all for the video card, no errors
So this is eitehr a bad video card, bad drivers, or coincidence. i really would like to use my video card, but i need drivers to do it, so how can i get the correct drivers for my card that wont crash the system?
Usefull specs: Palit daytona geforce fx5200 128mb card, MSIkt600 delta motehrboard wit hthe via vt8237 chipset
any help would be appriciated, i am going to take the comp in to the shop tomorrow and pay for it to be fixed if all else fails so remember: YOU CAN SAVE ME MONEY :woot:
thanks,
Pops
