Former Vice Pres, Al Gore Joins Apple's
oh man.. I read the headlines on Spymac. I thought it was just a joke. But I read the actual article, and damn! I am surprised!
Well, this is almost as good as president.
Should we email him about the grave injustice that has been done to Aqua-Soft?
Crap...how long until he claims he invented the Mac?
WOW, you actually listened to the Election mudslinging? Al Gore NEVER said he invented the internet. He said he helped to pass legislation that allowed the internet to be possible, which is true. There were many politicions who wanted to slow down internet growth, and Al Gore introduced new legislation that helped it get moving.
contrasutra, I'm guessing your a democrate?
And what is wrong with being a democrate?
look at the crap we're in now cause of the Bush's.
And I never voted for either of them (and yes I am old enough to have voted during Bush senior's term).
And no I didn't vote for Gore either. Actually for the last election I didn't vote... my vote would have made 0 difference. Since Electoral College owns the polls, Gore won my states electorial (California), so it doesn't matter. Gawd I hope we can get rid of the Electorial College, and actually have 1 vote, 1 count.
Bush is just another term for PUSSY.
Only if McClain had got the nomination... wow I would have voted republican.
Ok not to get into a political debate, just had to get 2 cents in.
democratic reforms, hi-speed internet and OS X for all! ![]()
I think Gore fits nice at Apple. They have kind of the same feeling about them...hard to explain maybe...
well i'd just like to say this I support this war even though i don't really like the US gov. If Gore was president we wouldn't be doing anything we'd just be a big punk that lil guys like iraq would pick on. We either get to them before they get to us or we'll have another 9-11 and we aren't hurting the citizens of Iraq they are rejoicing and are excited of liberation just turn your tv to cnn. This war was the right decision. Evil triumphs when good men do nothing. was it the guy on the $20 that said that? I don't remember
Oh because of course the news never warps the facts? Im not going to get into a political debate here, but im NOT a democrat. Anyway, have you seen what CNN has been showing on the protests. Cops beating non violent protestors?! You can protest before a war, but watch out when it actually starts, now its the cops turn. I disagree with this war and its a horrible mistake that will hurt the people of Iraq, US, and the rest of the world. Thats all im going to say. ![]()
is this what you are referring to?
Hundreds Arrested in Anti-War Protests in US
In many major US cities, anti-war protesters took to the streets today as the US attacks on Iraq continued. Over 500 of them were arrested in San Francisco. Many of them tried to shut down city streets and refused to leave when police intervened.
In Washington, D.C., anti-war protesters shut down the Key Bridge during Rush Hour. New York City saw a quieter demonstration by "September 11th Families for Peaceful Tomorrows." At Harvard University, 1,500 students walked out of classes.
While arrests are happening nationwide, it appears that none of the protests are as vigilant as the one in San Francisco. Police arrested enough protesters to fill several buses. Police made temporary pens on the street to detain some of them.
First of all, I dont know why they are arresting them. They werent violent in any way. So what if they were blocking traffic? If there were enough people to actually do that, maybe it's something important. I can't tell you the exact protest I saw, but Cops were beating a protestor in shackles with a billy club. This was yesterday I believe.
WOW, OOOOOO, WOWWWWW Al Gore is helping out Apple!! Big woop. As far as I'm concerned he' s a dumb **** anyways. All he is, is a big book worm with a bunch of text books and school degrees under his belt. He doesn't impress me. <_

In a March 1999 interview with Wolf Blitzer, Gore said, "During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet."
So he NEVER said that, huh contra?
don't forget about his infamous lock box
And after that he explained how he passed laws that DID CREATE THE INTERNET as we know it today. Obviously he is not taking all the credit, but legally, he had a HUGE part in helping the internet be formed.
I just found out which message board Al Gore posts in
Ouch, calling me an Apple Board Member (thats not my fantasy).
He also "discovered a little place called Love Canal"...2 years after the feds had already identified it as a Superfund site.
He also claimed that his mommy sang the "Look for the union label" song...which means she must have wrote it because it came out in commercials well after little Algore was a pup.
As he related to the 1996 Democratic Convention delegates and the American people the genuinely tragic story of his sister's death as the catalytic "Saul on the road to Damascus" event that converted him to his article of faith in the unsurpassed breadth and depth of evil embodied in tobacco-company executives and tobacco (but not the noble tobacco farmers), he understandably forgot the trivial fact that between the date of that tragic event and the date of that Democratic Convention speech, he had given a different speech to tobacco farmers in North Carolina extolling the virtues of tobacco farming and bragging about his, and his family's, long and proud history as tobacco producers.
He's a slimy liar, and not a good one at that. So, I ask again - how long until he claims that he "took the initiative in creating the Macintosh"?
So wait, hold on.....Politicians Lie? Well now im disheartened.
I've never had a problem with Gore and ive been following him in the news for a long time. I guess the reason I like him so much is basically because hes a boring Clinton, and I liked Clinton. ![]()

Support this war... pfft...
Blood for Oil... whatever...
9-11 probally would not have happened if Gore did win,
no way to really tell...
Yes 9-11 was bad, But two wrongs don't make a right (War is wrong). And look we still haven't delt with the person responsible for that (Laden), Equal retalitation is one thing, (which yes we have accomplished that afganastian in shambles) full out war with someone else is another, weather they may be involed or not. This really has nothing to do with 9-11, its a continued **** fight between the Bush's and Hussien, and How the Bush's want Iraq's oil (the Bush's are oil tycoons).
Granted Hussien is a dictator, and does treat his people awfully by OUR standards, but its awfully ironic how his people are still devotee's and love him (they said not to leave). And who are WE to dictate what another country does within its own sovergein nation, we are not the World Police, and WE are not above anyone else.
Its basically another Nam... only that time it wasn't terrorism, it was communism, which is still an 'ism, and again something we had no business being there, and actually did worse for that country. Even again that was a huge cock fight that lasted 30 years (cold war). Republican's were reponsible for that too. We're pushing our weight around a bit to much, we're basically trying to take over the world with paper pushing, and money bribing, hmm a new twist on world domination. It's time to take stock in what we have at home, and fix ourselves, before we try to fix the world (if you want to call it that).
Last thing... I blame Bush for the loss of my current job (tech field downsizing), economy has taken a **** dive since he came into office, and he is more worried about his little oil war, hidden behind a mask of a war on terrorism, to deal with the issues at home. And the fact my job went to some cheap labor in India and the philippines, which our adminstration should be putting a stop to. But since big corporations have the admistration in thier pocket thats not going to happen.
MageGuru, your only deceiving yourself. It is the republicans that get everything in order when they are elected office and they have to freakin fix EVERYTHING the democrates messed up. And if you like having an adultress president representing you fine by me. We can't worry so much about what is going on here at home until you resolve the outlying issues and outside threats. The reason 9-11 happened is that we weren't dealing with the outside threats like we should have been and that cost us lives and sercuity. The only reason France is not with us is because they are too devotted to their economy to the point where they will even sell weapons to country's that they are illegal in and that puts everyone at risk. Saddam Hussan is a crazy bastard if he will kill his own people he has no morals and nothing will keep him from targeting us next and the longer we prolong a war against them the larger and more dangerous this threat becomes. Secondly of all Saddam has been violating the contract with UN for the past decade......that is more than ampel time for him to destroy his weapons in conjunction with the agreement. And you losin your job isn't bush's fault it is your own. The foreigners don't take for granted the opprotunities the US offers because they know what it is like in less developed countries and the main bosses of tech coporations are greedy people that know they can get away with paying foreigners less money than americans. .......that was a lil more then I wanted to type
I agree with what you said Mageguru, except lately, the democrats have become as bad as the republicans. I also dont think it was completly bush's fault for the economy, it was getting bad before he got into office, but he DID make it much worse by the tax cut and this REALLY EXPENSIVE war.
I think Saddam has to go, by we cant make that decision, thats the UNs job, and they obviously dont want to get rid of him, so we shouldnt, that is abusing our power.
yea that's smart lets leave saddam alone and start selling them weapons of destruction like France and Germany just so we can give our economy a boost and help the stock market and lets support those baby killing democrates
im not a moderator nor a geek for sticking to the topic, were not supposed to discussing politics, please (that means the war and what would have happened if gore won and why, blah blah).....its just goes with one of my principles, i dont like discussing politics because almost everyone has a different opinion and in the end no one is really the right one, so lets just end it here, k?
