[question] Dvd Decript Software

Hi,

Im thinking in buying an iBook , some friends told me, theres no software to decript (remove protections dvd movies.

Id like to know if this is true, because with my pc i usually make backups from the movies that i buy and rent from blockbuster, and if i cant do it with Mac, its a strong reason for me to think better about it.

Thnks.

Hi,

I think i didnt explain well.

In PC i use a software called DvD Decripter that rips to harddisk and remove the protections that the movie have like macrovision, then i use another software to shrink the movie to the size of the DvD 4.7Gb (my recorder is single sided) and then i record it with Record Now Max for exemple or with nero.

What i want to know is , if theres any software that do the same but for Mac.

Thanks.

don't use a mac, so i have no idea if this is any good, but it's a dvd ripper...

(personally, i like smartripper for the PC)

I wouldn't be surprised to see this thread shut, but here's my input quickly.

I use an app called MacTheRipper. It rips the DVD to your disk, removes ALL copy protection and region data and other snazzy things too.

that's the same app i linked to on the second one...

Oop! So it is, didn't notice that. Anyway, you linked to the best one. It's fairly quick too.
