Aqua-Soft ForumsMy old pc sucked so much to open up ie it took a good 3 seconds! My dad decided to buy me a laptop. He works for bms n so they have a deal w/ ibm that employees get 10% discount on ibm products. My dad wants me to buy a thinkpad but the starting price of the T or X series (which i like, thin and light and portable) is 1499 and the T can't have more than 40 gb hd and both need a dock to use a cdrw/dvd drive (175 extra for dock more for drive). My customized thinkpad came up to 2000$$(without dock!!)!!! So i decided to buy an apple laptop. I've never bought and apple product (or a laptop) and i don't know whats better for the price. I customized this one

and it came to around 1400~1500. Its significantly cheaper, but after hearing many people saying 12 sucks and powerbook is better etc.. i dunno what to buy. basically i need a laptop that can run my programs (adobe cs, macromedia smx, msoffice), run my games (sg, d2, wc, gb), give me long enough battery life for 2-3 dvds in flight/on the road or ~10-15 anime eps, be thin and light for travel, and be pretty

also how far can i access the wifi with the airport express? if its not as far as w/ the linksys 802.11g wireless router i would get that one. also does the airport express act as lan? and can it connect to my desktop pc through ethernet cable? also can i create a lan with a apple laptop and a pc desktop?

(is 150 feet better than linksys range?). apple says the powerbook goes 6 hours but with what i am gonna do i doubt it'll last that long so i might go for another battery(100$) which'll put it above 1500. but hey while at that i might as well get an ipod for 999$ (does cram and jam offer work for powerbooks too?)
