I've showed my father iPod G4 20GB and he said: "I can buy you one if you will give me a few good reasons, that it will have good influence on you". He doesn't like the kind of music which I'm listening to (rap), so I'm in difficult situation: to find some good reasons. Please, somebody help <_

tell him its got so much storage that he can use 25% of it to put classical music on so that 1/4 of the time you'll listen to orchestral music 
they look good, they cost alot, and they waste your time and money.
it will make u more responsible in taking care of expensive items or valuables ??

No more wasting Floppys, ZIP disks, or CD-R because the iPod can serve as a portable hard drive.

Long road trips, air plane flights, listening to all your music without having to lug around 50 pounds of cd's (I think thats what 40 GB of music would be equivalent to)

I don't need an iPod to get chicks, just the other day I was in Manhattan at Cafe Lalo when this girl came up to me and said, "My friend and I think you're amazing" So yea, I talked to her for a bit and got her MSN. Didn't talk to her for a week tho cuz I went to hockey camp. I don't think that affected our relationship tho. BTW, for anyone who has me on MSN that explains my display name.

But seriously, it'd be very useful for backup (though that might not convince him in the "good influence" thing).. I agree with Icexswipe in that it'll teach you to take d@mn good care of expensive items..
Do you go on road trips a lot and if so are you hyper enough that you either have to get out of the car a lot or annoy everyone in it? An iPod will keep you quiet, certainly..
And yeah, letting him choose some of the music on it is definitely a good idea.. that way he'll feel he's having an influence on what you're listening to, even if all you do is skip over those tracks

That's really good idea, my dad know that but when he asked for Belkin adapter for digital camera cards and the price is very big >.< But anyway, I think that these all CD's which I'm recording every week with new music (borrowed from friends and bought) will decrease in short time...

Yeah, right - all his data from disk will be in my iPod so, I will be listening to word documents, slideshows and projects But it will be good.

It's so long and I have to use my "Yepp"discman - always change CD when I'm bored...
And for the end: My father asked me yesterday: The hard disks has very small parts, so it's very delicate and feels falls... So, he said what about disk in iPod? Is it will work long, or destroy after small fall, or, just shakes in my pocket. Please answer me this. Everybody who has iPod, just say how is it to take care of it, is it difficult to have it working long?
As far as I know, it's pretty durable - it'll certainly endure your pocket, would probably survive a drop, but multiple drops onto hard surfaces.. doubtful.
Yep, the drive in the iPod is very durable. It is meant to get knocked around. It doesn't mean that you can drop it from shoulder high onto cement (
, poor baby, but it still works.), but it can handle a little torture.
