Maybe A Dumb Question...

hi there. i used to go here when i used XP, and now occasionally i still do. i enver managed to sign up. for some reason it always say that you're not taking any new members. weirdness. ah well. now i'm in. i've seen some great OSX adaptations here and it's pretty amazing that it looks so alike. but here's the thing that i never get. if you like OS X so much...why not get a real mac??

don't take this as an offense or anything..i'm just curious. are you all here because your work demands that you use a PC? cause that would be the only reason i can think of that would keep you on the PC side despite the fact that you like OS X so much. :D or do you have a mac and just wants to make your XP box look more appealing so it's more bearable to work with it?

btw...why is this >> :canadian: emoticon labelled canadian?? are we that annoying?? lol.

The fact that not all of us have the money for a mac havent hit you, have it? I think that is the main reason why many of us dont have macs.

Yes, money, and software compatability. A lot of us are already adapted to the cerain software that we use on Windows. And then when we get a Mac, we would have to find new software that is equivalent to programs that don't have Mac counterparts. And on the Mac, Freeware is not real big, so there's more money.

It's also kind of the same for people that don't use Linux on an x86 computer. Laziness.

:canadian: Canadian? On a show called South Park on Comedy Central (if you have heard of it, I appologize for my ignorance), the creators made all Canadians have that kind of mouth movement. It's sort of an inside joke.

well, yea, money is a factor, but yesterday i was helping a friend of mine find a laptop or unviersity, and her dad only lets her use $2000 (and that's canadian). and i had a pretty difficult time finding a decent PC notebook that provides what Apple can at such a price point. this kinda surprised me a bit since i thought it shouldn't be that hard. afterall, macs are supposed to be more $$$ than PCs, right? wrong. ocne you weigh in all the benefits..it's not such a clear cut difference anymore.

as for software..maybe i'm cheap and *cough*acquire*cough most of what i use. but most professional software are available on the mac, some are better than what PC offers. as for freeware. 75% of the software i use are either freeware or donation-ware. open-source is huge on mac and there is a huge collection of software ready to be used for free. so saying freeware is not big on mac is quite wrong.

and yea, i do watch south park every now and then. now i see what it is. LOL. didn't notice that before until you say south park.

No, we've answered this question too many times. Hell, WIRED wrote an article about this "mystery".

I don't think you're trolling, but this thread is very redundant.
