[help] My Game Won't Run

i have this old game from 1998 called Forsaken, by Acclaim with a patch from 99. it started giving me this error: i have xp which comes with directx 8.1 and i have directx9.0c installed so this error confuses me. if any of you have forsaken, did you get it to run on xp?

EDIT: i ran dxdiag and it said because netmeeting is always open direct3d won't work right. now time to pop back in my ati aiw 128 and see if i can get it to work with that.

EDIT2: i forgot to say that it only does that when you patch it. before being patched it requires dx5 and after the patch is installed it asks me to install dx6 so i reinstalled to make it not ask for it.

maybe try running it in win 98 compatibility mode.

i tried win95 compat mode (it was made before 98) and it didn't work but i'll tell netmeeting to only open when i want it to.

lol i meant before win98. it works fine now though on xp. surprising how apps that old run so smooth and good on today's hardware. wel actually its not, as ms wants things to be compatible. anyway, thx for trying to help me. i had to uninstall the patch and i will try reinstalling it now.
