[question] Object Dock Plus Worth $20?
I bought it and I am happy with it. I really like the tab functions, it makes it simple to oganize your apps.
If you like the ability to have multiple docks running at the same time and a lot of other feautures, then go for it....
its worth it, since theres no available substitute yet, unless perhaps :naughty: ave thinks of something?
may be it worth when it gets the final stage...
if u checked the Fp u`d see that it`s out of the beta stage ![]()
(or at least that`s what i think :-/ )
That $20 also covers a year's worth of upgrades too.
I bought it, not entirely sure it's worth $20, but with an OD subscription the $15 seems a little more reasonable.
It probably is worth $20 if you use it to it's fullest.
I like it but it could use a few more features IMO (icing on the cake).
I like it... tabbed docks are nice.
OD & OD + are out of the beta stage.
There's been alot of improvement from OD+ beta 1,2,3 trough RC1,2,3 till the current version (1.04).
The tabs rule majorly, since you can add alot more shortcuts, categorise them under tabs. It's a bit different from the classig dock (with the expanding icons), leans more towards dragthing now (search these boards for dragthing backgrounds).
I haven't got it myself yet, since I thought it to be ridiculous to have to pay for beta's. Recently I've seen it at a friends and I must say I', really impressed. And, you can still add classic docks too.
I seriously consider buying it, because OD+ really has alot more to offer compared to Y'z, moby and the free version of OD.
...or Ave must be able to compete???
i like the Object dock plus. but i Won`t pay 20 $ for something like this having in mind that there is one Called DRAG THING for Mac os x that is 100000000x better and Cooolerrrr .. so . untill they make something like that .... but anyway if the price is --> Slower <-- maybe i`ll think buy it.

Dragthing is also 9 dollars more expensive if you are buying OD+ standalone, and about twice as expensive compared to what someone who owns ODNT pays for OD+
Dragthing also isn't for Windows, so whatever IngeneerMind is trying to say doesn't make much sense.

lol, that's often the case with ingeneermind ![]()
I think you'd be hard pressed to find someone who's used BOTH DragThing and ObjectDock Plus for any serious amount of time who will say DragThing is "much better".
They are not nearly as similar as a screenshot would suggest both in how they work and what features they have.
ObjectDock+ is currently worth $10 to me.
I do however have faith that it will be worth $20 in due time, which is why I have chosen to support it by purchasing it. I hope to see more work done on it, I hope to spread the word of its goodness, and I generally hope to see it do well so that my $20 can do well on my desktop.

We'll see if this philosophy works out well.
Reasons to buy ObjectDock+:
1. Tabbed Docks
2. Multiple Docks
3. Flyout menus
If you don't think you'll use these features stick with the free version. I used the flyouts a bit when I first bought OD+ but haven't used them much lately. Then again I've got hotkeys for most of the apps I use frequently. YMMV.
I'm surprised we have yet to see the "I don't pay for OD - I d/l WAREZ!! F$(%* l334 " and all those usual dumb-assed posts...

Shhhh ! Its forbidden here !!! I got banned for 1 day ![]()
Nope, that warez thing is lame.
You don't go out and hijack a car
just because you want to have it, now do you?
Developping stuff takes time. Time and money.
Nothing less than fair developpers charge money
for their investments IMHO.
In the case of OD+ I dislike the fact that there is no trail-version.
I don't like to have to pay for beta of pay for stuff I haven't been able to try beforehand.
Now I do dig no-cd cracks, because some (originally bought)
games don't run without it. Or take minutes before start.
Also I am pro disablers of online-product activation (win XP, office, etc)
I don't ant to have a compagnie tell me that hardware I can change or what not...
just my 2 $
