[question] Docks..

Two questions actually..

1. I reckon there are 3 major docks out there: OD, Y'z dock and moby dock. Which of these 3 docks is the "best". Also I've heard something about Y'z dock being "banned" from Apple or something like that but people still use it?

2. Do you guys with docks still use your windows taskbar/startmenu ? Or do you registryhack to have it disabled (if that's possible) or do you just hide it?

I'm doing some research before going into this docking business :)

Cheers

1)

"Which is the best?" We are not going to have one of these again. The best way to find out is test all three. Whichever one you feel more comfortable with, use it. Those type of threads only turn to flame wars.

"Y'z Being Banned" Yep, Mr. Yamaguchi got a Cease and Desist order from apple to stop development and distribution of Y'z Dock. It's still possible to find it, but very much illegal to do so. Especially by "If you want it PM me" type of posts. Y'z Dock is kind of like a "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" issue. But it does emulate the OSX Dock the best of the three.

2) Most people do. There haven't really been any good replacers for the taskbar for docks. That's why most MSStyles have a Finder bar look to it, so you still have the functionality of the taskbar, but the look of the finder bar. If you want to replace the taskbar, a shareware version of ObjectBar by StarDock is a really good one.
