Objectbar 1.6 Released

Stardock has released a new version of ObjectBar. ObjectBar is a program that lets users create or download their own bars. The Windows Start bar, Mac''s Finder, Linux Wharfs, etc. are all examples of the kinds of things ObjectBar can do. It essentially integrates the best OS interface features into a single program.

The new version allows users to add hot-keys to any item on any part. These hotkeys not only can launch programs but access Windows system commands, URLs, and more. ObjectBar also can make use of plugins developed by third parties.

ObjectBar is also fully skinnable and can autuomatically make use of WindowBlinds visual styles on the fly. It is a free download. Try it for yourself. It works on any version of Windows (one popular use of it is for non XP users to have a fully functional Windows XP Start bar).

What makes ObjectBar really special is that it''s been designed with functionality as its top priority. It doesn''t just look good, it can greatly increase your productivity.

This is great news btw...

I actually have been playing with the beta OB 1.6 for the last week or so.

And it is a LOT faster now...

Another feature that has been added is that you can replace any icon in OB's systray with any icon file you want...

So you have that trillian icon in the systray, change it to the iChat icon directly. you NO longer have to hack dll's or exe's.

This is why my MAC OSX OB has been delayed, cause I knew this was being released, and I wanted it to come out before my next release. Also I just got layed off work, so this is my last week (Earthlink does SUCK! 4 years of work means nothing.) so I will have plenty of time to work on my next release.

I looked all over Stardock's site...maybe I'm blind, but I couldn't find out what's the difference between the downloadable "shareware" version and the "enhanced" version for registered users...exactly what don't you get in the shareware version?

#17634

The ability to add additional themes I believe.

And an annoying popup at windows startup.

could someone give me a link for the enhanced

version of OB 1.6?

I know i should buy it, but a dont know

if it worth is or not until

I try a full version.

Please!!!!

Also, the shareware version runs out after 30 days.

And dont ask people to pirate, the whole point of Shareware is to try out the program.

If the shareware version isn't proof enough for you. Then don't bother asking for the full version. I love using ObjectBar and I know it is worth much more than what they charge.
