[help] Lost Transparency When Editing Bitmap

Hey, I have no experience modding system files (although I am familiar with photoshop), and I was swapping the rotate buttons in Flyakite's version of Windows Picture/Fax viewer because they were reversed. I did this in Paint, however, and I lost the transparent borders that the buttons had. How can I edit these and keep the borders?

Try using magic pink for the transparent areas.

Haha yeah I know, not a smart move, but just trying it out to save time... I am really busy and I don't have the time to figure stuff out for myself, so if any kind soul would hear my plea and give me a hand here... I have attached the original extracted bitmaps as "original#.bmp" and my modified one as "modified#.bmp," so if anyone could switch around the rotate buttons like I have and maintain the transparency properties in the bitmap, I'd be very, very grateful.
