Why Do Icons Look Jagged?

When i make an icon from png (using iconworkshop 5) the icon looks jagged. How do i fix this?

Hi,

When going from a low resolution png to a high resolution icon, that will happen.

I would suggest that one not create high resolution icons from low resolution pngs.

Also there are some filter settings when creating an icon from an image that may help. Smooth, sharp, etc.

also when maing icons, already assuming that you made from largest size.. u have to include every size you are trying to view from.. and also if by any chance you are using gif movie gear you have to use the one specifically for icons and not the other one.. hope that helped as well.

Well i made 128x128 icons from 128x128 png, AND i made all sizes from 16x16 to 128x128!

Do the icons look jagged in the Icon Workshop display or on the desktop/explorer itself?

Icon Workshop will magnify the icon so it's easier to work with, perhaps that is throwing you off.

They look jagged both in IconWorkshop and explorer. They look jagged even when i look them in IconPackager Explorer. I`ve noticed that this happens only with sphere (round) icons?
