Aqua-Soft Forumsi've been wanting to change the way the buddylist looks in aim. but i dunno how. i've got reshacker, but i still dunno what i need to change the appearence. can anyone help?

It's not easy...I think there was a mod released by someone. I know how to do a little (systray icon, basic bitmap size etc) but not much.
Get Miranda IM to replace AIM.

im using that one and it looks great.

hehe, actually, ive got that one downloaded. but when i tried to use it, it said that the buddyui.ocm file was outta date or something (i'm using v5.2 too). i dunno. i guess i'm just bad at these things. but i'll check out that other site. thanks for the big help guys!

and what's wrong with miranda? it's the best im client i've ever used. 
um... no. i hate miranda as well. i mean, you have to get all those plug-ins just for SOUND. please. and then to get more features, which should come standard w/ every other messenger, you have to get MORE plug-ins. its ridiculous. i think that Gaim and/or Trillian are the best. even though gaim isn't as customizable as miranda, its very stable (unlike prev. versions) and it's never had probs connecting to aim, msn, or yahoo for meh. i just can't go w/ miranda, sorreh.
haha ok, chill.
sounds are part of the default installation (i disabled mine), and i like having to get plugins. it means i don't need to install crap i don't use, and the features get developed faster.
but to each his own.
as for aim, reshacking should do the job.

aiMutation is an awesome program for modding aim. It's FREE, you can hide buttons, skin aim and easily create your own skins, aliases, custom buddylist colors, and much much more...... 
i'm using aimutation right now. i just want to mod aim myself i guess....
