I was just browsing past posts and mentioned someone saying that you shouldn't use any of the system mod sets, like flyakite, on XP Home, that you will just mess up your computer. I haven't seen anyone say anything about not using xp home, though. Is this true, should I have pro to try modifying anything?
Should I Really Not Be Using Mods On Xp Home?
I've never heard anything like that before. I'm using XP Home right now, and I haven't had any real troubles with it; I'm using Stefanka's Sytem Files. ![]()
And Iam using flaykites no problem
Xp Home is just Pro with some features not included.
Xp pro just have the support of dual prossessor and xp home doesn't have it
Primary XP Pro and XP Home differences.
Dual CPU support in XP Pro.
Advanced networking support in XP Pro i.e., ability to join an AD domain.
Ability to manage an AD domain structure and GPO administration.
Advanced sharing capabilities in XP Pro.
Advanced NTFS permissions in XP Pro.
Limitations in the EULA for XP Home users.
I was trying to get a copy of the XP Pro EULA to show differences, but M$ has interestingly not made it available online.
The one for XP Home is available online.
Phew, that makes me feel better. I was worried I might be messing up my computer! I would be so mad if I couldn't use any of the system mods!
Still, its better to go with pro
And if your the anti piracy
type and wanna buy it I suggest you wait till Longhorn is out ![]()
