I was looking around the preferences to see if i can set a sound for the first incoming message... and all the listings for sound events seem to be confusing.. now i know AIM and ichat have a different sound for a first incoming message event. is this possible in trillian?

if you don't get an answer in the next hour, i'll take a look when i get home from work... i know there's a place in the preferences that you can do advanced events, but i don't know where it is off hand and i don't know if there's one just for the first message
try the event 'message: IM window creation'. the description sounds like it would make the sound whenever an instant message is initiated... i'm not sure if it would make the sound if you initiate the IM, though, as opposed to just when you receive it.
ok i set it.. i thought that would just make a sound, anytime an IM window would open..ie if i opened one myself.. but i set it, and it turns out thats not the case, so i'm hoping that when someone IMs me, that I'll get the appropiate sound..
