i love the mac osx look. and ive seen some pretty cool themes for GUI Replacer. the only problem is i'm afraid it might screw up my computer. is this program safe to use? and since i have XP Home, will it change the theme on all the user accounts on my comp?

Ummm dont mod xp home. Get yourslef pro. Most mods
and system files are made for pro and if you use them on Home
you will screw it up. 
o, ok. well i can't get pro. for one, i'm only a teen. and two, we havent even had this comp for a year. tis a dell. i like it just fine. i just wish i could customize it... thank god i'm gettin my own comp for highschool (ive finally talked mah rents into getting an iMac for meh. hopefully we can get it next year!). and itll last through college too!
All through high school AND college....8 years is a looong time for a computer.. Think of mac's (low end too..as it's an imac youre talking about) circa 1996 (can't remember where the low end macs were at this time, but a low end PC was in the 100 mhz range) running any of todays software. Wouldn't be fun..
yea, but i'm most likely going towards graphic design... hopefully, my mac'll last long enough for meh to get a better one. but by the time i'm in college (i'm 15 now), comps'll be awsome!

I've used every systemfile pack at least once, and never had any problems. The core files are the same in Home and Pro, Pro just has some features more, that's all.
And why would I pay more for a version which has features i will never use? Because my bootscreen says "Pro" means that i'm 1337?
Yeah loofy's right... the only difference in pro is the more server capibilities and further admin features.

one thing i hate hate hate about home is that comon dialogs don't have path autocomplete. I can't live without it!

Assuming we are not all warez-users,
I don't think it is realistic to advice someone just to get PRO.
XP Home costs money (about €95 here in Holland), XP pro costs even more
(€ 155).
So, unless the ca$h grows out of your ears, you don't just get yourself another copy of windows, a more expensive version as a matter of fact, just so that a sys mod works, now do you? :pokey:
