Maybe it's just me, but I'd like this part to be a little more mac-like. Have a desklet that instead of monitoring individual drives, it monitors every drive that will show up in My Computer. That way, when you eject the CD from your CDRW and put in a DVD in the other drive, the DVD icon will appear under whatever icons you have rather than a couple below since that space is reserved for the CD icon. I hope I explained that correctly... just look at how it works on the Mac and it should be obvious.
[request] For The Drive-mounting Desklet

I would like this also, but the way it works now is just fine with me if it's not possible ![]()
This will soon be added by a module. It'll add desklets for appearing drives
and unload them when they are unmounted; also an inserted CD will create
one - no need to run numbers of desklets for all possibilities.
that's good news
DoubleD's screenshot has a good idea. He has a faded image of the optical disc to represent the no-disc state of the drive. It's a background image, but I think it'd be useful if a no-disc image state is implemented. By default it can have a blank PNG so nothing is shown.
It might throw a wrench in the sense of emulating the Mac, but it's an idea. ![]()
