I actually saw about it on the news this morning, heard it on the radio, and read it in the Washington Post. The news media really stays on top of their Windows updates I guess 
Did anyone else make a connection between the new Windows security stuff and America's security stuff? "Windows Security Center" = Department of Homeland Security. Microsoft rip-offs again :-P
Apparently M$ and the government hold hands... Remember Homeland Security was at Gates' house when he had a party...

It's not in Windows Update now and won't be until the currently planned date: August 25th.
See my edit above, but I think the intension was already there.
it's been released since day one....for all the RC1 and RC2 but the final is the same
well I am someone to add to the list that has successfully installed it. windows boot's 2 seconds faster (I now boot a 1.3 sconds.) windows shuts down at about 0.70 seconds. And ALL I repeat ALL my programs work exactly the same if not load faster. PhotoShop loads faster, Norton Loads faster, Bryce 5 loads faster. I have no complains I love this service pack. :rock:
