I was just browsing the Konfab site and found this clock,
I have no idea how it would be made (I'm guessing SysStats).

Yeah this looks great. SysStats should be able to do it as long as there is a weather feed that includes sunrise/sunset times. I know Yahoo! Weather and wunderground.com has those values, but do they have a feed?
Well the widget must be pulling the values from somewhere.
I'm also wondering if anyone is able to install this widget and give us more idea of how the different day/night states look.
Sunrise and sunset times can be calculated given a precise location on earth
and a date as input. No need to pull that from the web.
However, the algorithm is a bit beyond my rusty math capabilities.
Any astronomers in here?
My ignorance reveals itself. ![]()
Here's a promising link: http://www.paulsadowski.com/wsh/suntimes.htm
Saw this and was wondering exactly how it worked myself. Gotta admit, it would add a lot of eye candy to the clock on my desktop! Sure, we have an AM/PM switcher, but that's just two states ... having a few more would be sweet!
Forgive me if my info is wrong, not being an astronomer and all, but aren't there configs for Samurize that calculate [read data from a site or whatever] moon phases? I'm wondering if maybe that data can be used to do the sunrise/set thing ... like if it reads from the same site ... couldn't that be used to do the same thing for clocks under SysStats/AveDesk ?
Ok that file that Mimeryme found is perfect for systats. we just need to get the values out of the script and use it to display the images. We could use the standard clock to lay over the top....

Yes, there are. They turn calculated moon phases into the selection of
picking one of 16 predrawn images of the moon phases. Another one
just moves a black circle bitmap over a static moon image. I started adapting
the second for a moon phase view of my analog clock desklet but was forced
to dig it since I ran out of time while trying to make it look like a wristwatch
moon phase indicator. Again, this is done with maths, no www involved,
code samples (mostly in Delphi and Java) are available on the web.
'nuff said. Scripters, SysStatsers, Imagists: Now join your skills and go create!
Learn by doing. Fail poorly first, brilliantly next and succeed at last.
This sounds like something id have on my desk. ![]()
um...has noone told you?
I made this
manyk and I are working out the bug but I got it to switch looks for am/pm and the hands are alomst done.

Nope! so much going on with AveApps lately not hard to miss something >.<
Wow, that's slick! I can't wait to see this implemented in AveDesk/Sysstats!
Is this still being developed? Not trying to put pressure on anybody - just asking.
I would really like to see this on my DT
I'd like to see this also.
Just extracted the images for myself and will try and create it for sysstats also. Won't release mine but it's a good learning experience.
Thanks for the .VBS
Is this going to be released anytime soon?

As long as you guys make your own graphics, that would be cool. ;-)

Ricky thanks for the all clear - thanks for making such a cool Widget.
I don't think anything got the graphics stage - apart from Duckies - but I never saw it so am unable to comment on what it looks like.
