[question] Would I Need Permission?

Hi, first of all i would like to apologize for not reply to all that PM'ed me regarding the Aqua Milk VS, coz i don't have the bloody permission to release it.

Altho i have Kol (Tiger VS), Lennard's (Milk V2) permission to release this modded VS BUT i don't have cmove (Aqua Milk's min max close button) permission YET. I did PM him over gfxOasis but he did not reply my PM i assumed that my request is rejected.

My question is, can i made those min, max, close button from scratch and release this VS without his (cmove) permission (since i don't uses any graphic resources by him).

Second question is, does releasing my work that use other ppl's "idea" consider a rip work? :blink:

If you're releasing something that is based on an "idea" it's usually nice to mention it somewhere. But I'm not 100% on the copyright laws and such, so don't take my word for it

I don't think that useing other's ideas is rip, but I think that you need to mention that your idea and work based on cmove idea.

i dont think he MADE The close mini max buttons ( i could be wrong ) i belive he just took them forom other mac themes ? i say release it and if theres a prob take the link down

I had the same question regarding this theme that I made last night:

It isnt aqua milk at all and they are my images... but It uses the blue close button.

Other than that it is based off of smooth stripes.

Whem we talk about ppl rights on an idea or work it´s allways dificult to decide the rigth way to solve things, to MY understand, little me, if youre doing a work from scratch usin other ppl ideas it´s allways good to have permission, or at least mencione there names, but, and if i did understand well, youre doing a VS based on VS that were made inicialy for Mac and not for Pc, so correct me if i´m wrong, should´nt you ask permission to authors of the MAC themes??? At least and concerning rigths they´re theres.

Well if their your graphics, yes you should release it. I mean someone here ( sorry I don't remember who) release that minikonfabtunes thingy, and used all his own grpahics. You can't copyright an idea.

I think,Nody is right. I know this is a Computer Forum. But I'll give You this example. WITH MY CAR .I have a TR3 Triumph body , but the engine is that of a Mazda Rx 8. so does that give me the permision to say that it's a brand new style of car and I hold rights to it. NO I don't.

So if somebody would try to, do the same thing I cannot, Stop them from doing so. Just my Two cents . The VS styles are originally from Max Rudberg so Ithink You should ask him... Sorry if somebody gets offended by this..

I don't think that Max sould be a problem, he is just a great guy and I guess that he will give is premisson.
