I know there are other apps which can do this. Wondering if this is possible for Avedesk...
Could someone code a small box desklet in which there's a lock icon, and when you click the lock, the mouse cursor gets trapped within the bounds of the box, and a subsequent click results in a password box appearing, and you can release the cursor once you enter the password?

How about....
if we can define a set of keys (customisable) to lock our comps - a combination 3 random/userdefined keys would equal quite a good security lock - saves the need for a password/mouse lock all together... we could even link it to this......
excuse the dodgy image - its just to show what could be displayed once the computer is locked ... along the lines of the volume display
Looks nice. We could also do it somewhat like one of those Win98 screensavers, where CTRL ALT DEL also brings up the password dialog. However those screensavers did it, I'm sure we could port that functionality over to this desklet.
Would work so much better than simply taking my entire keyboard module with me when I leave the computer (I have a laptop).
