[help]deutsches Modding Forum?

Hi,

I would like to set up a german forum for all the german modders out there

I already got the Power Invision Board and a tool for posting news.

Problem is that I need a server who supports mySQL and php, because I only got crappy free webspace.

I also though of making my pc to a server with Apache HTTp Server (Open Source Project) but I have no clue how this thing works

So anybody who can help me with this project and has experience with apache or other server progs or even can give us webspace

We Germans shall have our own modding source with a forum etc....

i can unserstand a few things. He is saying something about a german modding comunity or host. he has many problems. i only know a few words you are saying. Can you speak any english?

I understand what he is saying, im german.

The language of the boards though is english. If he wants to speak in german he can do it either on PM or with an english translation.

For the time being im closing the thread. When he has an english translation he can PM me and i will re-open it.

wieviel Platz brauchst du denn da so?

ich habe seit einiger Zeit ein bisschen Webspace (kein eigener Server) mit 300 MB Platz und ein paar GB (ich glaube 15) möglichem Traffic pro Monat.

Ich habe da jetzt ein paar Sachen von der Uni draufliegen, aber der Großteil ist seit dem unterdrückten Versuch, da selber ne deutsche Moddingseite zu machen eher brachliegend.

wir können uns da gerne mal unterhalten, aber du findest ganz sicher leicht motiviertere Partner.

I have to add, that i think, that the german aqua-modding-interested-community might not be big enough for a stand-alone site. I've been over at chip.de, where the "Desktop modding on a german-only site" kinda started, for years now and there weren't that many guys, who were focused on Aqua. There were some, but not many - as i remember.

If you decide to proceed, "good luck" from me, but at the moment i have the opinion, that it's best not to try to split out (?) the german users here. Of course, everyone might visit several boards, but it takes more time and that's something none of us should have an unlimited amount of.

would be a sub-forum (of any size) enough?

I have a forum on my page and I have unlimited traffic and about 300mb space ((free, not all space) that's enough for beginning, IMO)
