[help] Scrolling Not Working On Ms Mouse

Evenin' all. I just bought myself a Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse 2.0 (lovin' the feel of it; doesn't make my hand ache like my last one) - installed the software, re-started. All the buttons work fine, except for the scroll wheel. I've tried tweaking everything; changing this, changing that. But the scroll wheel and the tilt-wheel feature it has just isn't working for me at all. Not being able to open tabs with the scroll wheel click on Firefox is driving me insane! Has anyone else had this problem, or knows what I should do? Thanks

Anyway, I did a little bit of jiggery-pokery (love that word) and the scrolling now works fine in Windows, and in FireFox. But Links don't seem to Open in a New Tab when I scroll-click them. Is there any way to set this up, or to fix it?

there is a way to assign different mouse clicks to operations in the mouse setting in control panel. If its not there try getting the latest intellimouse software, availible for free at www.microsoft.com

Yes, the Scroll-Click works fine on everything else except FireFox. In firefox it should open the link in a new tab. But it does not; that's what I'm trying to fix. Thanks, though

have you tried reinstalling firefox? maybe it was a bad installation.

edit: you might as well. 0.9.3 was officially released.

Yeah, I just installed 0.9.3 and, alas, it has not solved the problem. Is there any internal function or extention that might help?

have you tried going to about:config and searching for "middleclick"?

also, tabbed browser extension has some options, but i'm not sure if it'll help.

All I've found in about:config is "middlemouse.openNewWindow", and this has been set to True. Is that right?

EDIT: Just gave TabBrowser Extensions a try, and that doesn't seem to have solved it. >.<

ANOTHER EDIT: OK, I disabled the WheelClick in the Control Panel, so when I click it Windows won't try to do something (show desktop, open Explorer etc) So, in theory, it should now do what FireFox is set up to do with it. In theory. Didn't work >_<
