[question] Lime Wire
Uhmm I don't think p2p filesharing is supporting here. And I am pretty sure you will be using limewire to download illegal mp3's. This topic will be closed.
haha, u can talk about p2p here, just not warz. i personally dont like lime wire, cuase it runs on a differn't kind of java then the my dock, and most of my other appz, and it flickers and basicly drives me insane. i have no idea about spywere, i say dl it, and run a scane.
i think most people here us emule.
i usto use kazaa lite, but i dont use it anymore, got one too many virus.
hope this is helpfull.
@black ice: let the staff decide if this thread is about warz or not
yea i wouldn't recommend limewire, it makes other stuff flicker like crazy and takes up too much memory (~50 megs on my comp)
Ok I wasn't sure but I see p2p affiliated topics get closed all the time. [sarcasm]I mean ya people use kazaa lite and such to download all those open source apps and non-copywrighted things. [/sarcasm] Sorry for jumping to conclusions.
I use Limewire myself, and I think it's very good. It does take up a lot of RAM from time to time but I just leave it running overnight ![]()
As for Spyware and such, I've just scanned my computer with several different Anti-Spyware tools and they've found nothing.
Torrents are the best! Get a good client, bittottent of ABC and start looking for you know what...Torrents are (can be) faster because if more people are downloading what you are downloading you will get a greater download speed. Unlike traditional p2p networks witch only allows files from 1 user per file witch just sucks...
Very true, I use BitTorrent a lot myself. My best speed was 400kb/s, and it stayed like that for several hours ![]()

Allows files from only 1 user? What traditional p2p apps have you been using? Last time I checked Kazaa Lite and eMule can both download from multiple sources.
But using Bittorrent is a very good form of file sharing, get torrentstorm from http://www.torrentstorm. Very easy to use, awesome gui, and has plug in support. Based off of bitornado's client.
I would really recommend DC++. I have tried a LOT of p2p-software, and I cant find half as much stuff on other p2p-programs as i do on DC++ ![]()
unknown but awesome: Shareaza, google it. I use Kazaalite tho and Bittorrent. I had limewire once, it sux.
Ok, lets try to keep this within its borders the fact that he uses P2P doesnt automatically imply he is pirating . However, if i see an allusion to it i will be forced to close this down.
Now, to the point. Please tag your threads, this is a [QUestion] you are asking. Also, try to be more concise on what you ask, "limewire" could be anything, what am i supposed to think this thread contains?
Also, as far as i am concerned this is Cross Platform(Thanx Ludge) Software and thus it should be there, not in general discussion.
Please have a read over the Board Guidelines.

Limewire is cross-platform.
Thanx for the heads up Tractor boy
Didnt know about that ![]()
I use LimeWire on both my Mac and my PC.
Never had any problems with it.
As for Torrents, yes, they can download from multiple sources if they are available. It just depands on who created the Torrent file and if it was seeded correctly.
The only reason I don't like Torrents is the failure rate. You have to restart them all the frikkin time because they are notorious for stalling.
My 2 cents.
@/ / f o x o r. Shareaza isn't that unknown. I use it all the time myself ![]()
