Alright, In Addition to the %s problem, the Desktop Picture is messing up too; when i hover over it... it used to display the mini transparent console// now it does not anymore. The weather is still messed up. It worked when i first installed 2.5.4 and those configs// after restarting the comp // it just didnt work.. and i tried the new comm.spl file too. thanks

The Problem is you tried the new comm.spl file... That comm.spl file was new when this thread was new... about a year ago... So basically you installed an older file and thats why DTP is screwed. Place the original 2.5.4 comm.spl back in its place and DTP will work again.
i did place it back/ it did not work..
i recomend you to go to the other 2 threads about this... the one with "sysstat weather stopped working" and "systats bugs"....
i had the same problem... i recomend you delete ALL SYSTATS AND AVEDESK files... restart... install ave, then sysstats.... ( i really hope you downloaded the xml fix at microsoft right?) ... then everything should work...
dont forget to visit the other 2 threads... since.. one of these places had the last available sysstat...

lol good point jggame, didn't even notice that. fixed the problem though ... i'm running systats on an unmentionable dock program, and have not investigated the what i _think_ is a pretty simple/possibly not needed porting process.
anyhow, above dock program uses 964K at idle, and i can't ask for anything more than that, so i think i'll sit here in the stoneage of development ... but i certianly won't bother anyone again unless i have up-to-date problems. great forum, though -- cheers!
