There might be... but wouldn't you need iTunes for your iPod ? I think apple are doing this to increase iPod sales and to make it compatible with all OS.

This isn't apple who are developing the software to make iTunes work in Linux, it's Codeweavers.

There are already progs that can sync with ipod that aren't itunes. both in linux and in windows.

There are programs under Linux that will sync with iPods already. I don't know how well this particular one works yet as far as iPod support, but Rythmbox is definately a good iTunes clone as far as muisc organizing, and I know there is SOME iPod support already in it, if not full support.
