It's not a Tarantino film, he just said he like the script and suggested to some producers that they took up the project IIRC.
But yeah, it does look really good 
LOL, this movie has been out for about a year and half already in china I believe. It is illegal in North america, and tarantino is trying to bring it here

Actually it's been out almost 2 years to date, it's a really good movie.. probably one of the best, of jet li's latest movies. Storyline is really good... if you guys check it out.. i'd say get yourself a copy through ebay or something. that's where i got mine. Just be sure that you get the Region Free version. Some are dependant on the region version so be aware of it if you decide to buy a copy.

If you live near a Chinatown, you can get the DVD ($12.95) or VCD ($8.95) from any of the video stores. It's in Chinese with English subtitles like Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon.
It's being released August 27th up here in Canada.
Yeah, a friend of mine got this last year and we watched it on DVD—the use of color and light and everything in this movie is simply gorgeous. I'm definitely a fan. The previews make it look awesome, but even they don't do it justice.

Its worth to see though, however I saw it with cantonese audio. As it is to be released in U.S etc, I assume they got english version ( I haven't seen any previews for it..)
heard that they will cut like 30 minutes off from the original cause they said it will be confusing for american viewers and what not. if i can find the link again ill post it.

I thought the movie sucked. Picture is nice and all, but the plot was a little on the cheeesy side.
was in cinemas over a year ago here in germany. really good movie! i think its a must-see

Its loosely based on Chinese history, the cinematography is amazing.. everyone should see it. I hope they don't dub it in english...

It's a beautiful and poetic film. I got a DVD copy of it in China for $1 over a year ago.
For those who haven't seen it, the cinematography is stunning. This film is a lyrical and lovingly rendered interpretation of the legend of China's first Emporer and his struggles against the assassins he feared most (and the struggles between the assassins themselves). Beautifully choreographed fight scenes, in a story of duty, courage, bitter sacrifice and betrayal... a very good film faithful to the culture from which it comes (a breath of fresh air from American versions of Eastern stories, ala The Last Samurai - which was good, just very Western in POV).
One of the better aspects of the film is an unusually subdued performance by Jet-Li who is usually over the top and unbelievable in his roles. He does not try to take over the film, thank goodness, and the result is something stunning to look at, and moving to watch.
