After 2 years of heavy use, my trusty Microsoft mouse is starting to give out.
So now I'm pretty interested in getting one of these MacMice things.
Including shipping they're still cheaper than buying another Microsoft one with similar specs here in Japan.
Just want to see if anyone here has had some experience on them, if they're crap or good or what.
They certainly look good, but who knows about the rest.

I own one, Ji Eun, and i recommend it completely.
Its basically the apple pro mouse but with right click and scroll wheel 
One thing though... the laser recognition is better on the apple pro mouse.. this one doesnt work on black desks 
All and all its still a very good buy. I would still use it if i didnt have carpal tunnel syndrome and had to use an ergonomic one 
I must say that their ship´ping is very trusty. I got it from USA to dubai and it was there almost the day after

Also, anyone know if the MacMice The Mouse in "silver-aluminum" matches the PowerBook very well? I know they say it does, but the photos make it look like it's just coloured/painted plastic, to my eyes...

Cordless Optical Trackman, Stevie. It is GREAT. It doesnt go all that well with my setup color scheme but it allows me to have my hand in a semi usable state (which is good)
As for the silver.. never seen it in real life but as you said, the picture doesnt look like it would make the AlBooks justice...

Well, mini review....
THe logitech cordless optical trackman is a masterpiece of logitech's already known quality.
The first thing you notice about it is the welcoming texture of the material, which aside from being nice maintains your hand in a firm/permanent position (no sliding like on some others i have tried) which adds up to its strain reducing advantages on one side.
The second thing that makes this mouse a good buy is the number of buttons. If you are used to multitasking in your computer, this is a great tool to do so.
One of the niftiest features is the lock and drag button. This button allows you to lock the scroll and just move the document/webpage around to your liking (again, less stress to your wrist as you dont have to keep one of your fingers mooving up and down in an unnatural position.)
The mac compatibility is a plus for me as you know, i onw a mac. It comes with macintosh software bundled in that allows you to activate all the buttons in the device without paying the price and not being able to use them.
The smoothness and accuracy of the optical mechanism on the trackbal is just stunning. Having had experience before with ergonomic mice (mouses ) has allowed me to compare and be amazed with the enhanced accuracy when pointing and clicking (you gamers reading this will not be dissapointed).
With regards to the ease of use and the learning curve to get used to it i can say the following: Even when i have used ergonomic trackball mice before, the main issue with them has always been their accuracy not always being up to par with normal mice. In this case however (as i have explained above) the pointing precission that the optical mechanism provides has no comparison with other trackball mice i have tried (included some older logitech and microsoft models)
The ergonomy of it resides in 2 thigs:
-You do not need to move your wrist and twist it in funny angles since all you have to do is move the tip of you finger.
-The well laid out size/position of buttons is a plus as it will have place for your hand even if (like me) you have big hands (:naughty:)
As a bottom line, this is an excellent buy for any of you concerned with quality ergonomic and wireless solutions for your mouse needs if you are willing to sacrifice it not looking like it was made to fit your AlBook or G5
I have used one of those before as well. They are wonderful. I like my Logitech MX 700 more though...
Just back from a small trip and my MacMice 'The Mouse' was waiting for me.
So after some quality time on this thing, the verdict is, with some small reservation, I am returning it. Out of the box this is bar none the sleekest mouse available for the iBook. However the driver is not customizable enough (you can't assign keystroke+click parameters, rendering middle click useless in Safari and Firefox), the scrollwheel is not grooved, so there's no sense of just how far you've scrolled down or up a list / page, and the wheel button requires way too much pressure to activate / depress.
Oh well, it's to the local shop for me, and on to another MS mouse, which have never failed to satisfy. The lesson of this thread: never, under any circumstances, take Seph's word on anything. :smartass:

Odd I was considering buying a MacMice mouse.. The only thing is I don't really mind my Mouse (I've switched from my Pro Mouse to my consumer Mouse that came with my eMac).
I just don't know if a right-click and scroll-wheel is worth the cash, plus Muff must be pretty unhappy/bugged if he's returning it..
