We just used a table, if I'm not mistaken, in this version.

We also have a pure XHTML/CSS version somewhere.

Both were very easy to get working in IPB - maybe 5-10 minutes of work using the usual suspects.

Maybe if you could explain in more depth how you tried to create the finder bar, I might be able to help a little more.

I thought you would say that so i tried copying your nav bar last night and the css as well however it works fine in a normal standlone webpage but once i put it into ipb the css doesn't show so the menu doesn't show like it should :(

Do you have it in the Header part of the global template or in the Broad wrapper?

Is the CSS in the right IPB CSS template?
