i have all the info in correctly.. but this is what i'm wondering, because my username has an @ symbol in it, could that be causing the issue?
what else could be the problem?
[help] Ftp Drop Problem.
I know IE has problems with @ characters in the password field: since this widget is using the built in FTP engine in Windows XP, it might be the same error. I'll compile a version with some more error information soon and post it here. Just check this thread in +/- 3 hours again.

If you are having trouble with the FTP droplet, download this version.
1) Quit AveDesk
2) replace the FTP.dll inside Desklets\FTP with the FTP.DLL inside the zip.
3) Restart AveDesk
4) Go into the FTP droplets properties dialog, and go to the Other Options tab.
5) Check the 'Show extended error information in a popup window'-checkbox.
The FTP Droplet will now show you extended information about what went wrong in a messagebox that pops up.

Same here 
That means the server you are trying to connect to doesnt exist. Check the address again, make sure there is no ftp:// in front.

finally. All I had to do was delete the stupid ftp part. Works flawlessly now. Thanks again.

All these people are telling me that they have everything correct, SO they don't post the information they used. Only if they had posted it, I would immediately have spotted it

one possible idea for the future : many servers are moving to SCP, which cant be accessed through traditional FTP clients, is it possible to have this functionality with the desklet?
Did you try to check the "Passive Mode(for firewalls)" checkbox? Also, are you sure there is enough space left on the servers end?
I really need a little more information before I can answer this question fully, all I am doing now is guessing. Maybe you can post your settings (strip your username/password out first).
Finally! I've made a Woodoo for my FTP-server and it works now! :smartass:

After: [color=green]ftp://fact:@web.lucky.net:21/htdocs/downloads
As you see, everything I had to do is to complete this string with destination folder path.
But, now I have another question - should I fill 6 editboxes above?
